Prevent Identity Theft, Protect National Security

Today's hyperconnected world poses very real threats to national security, as well as the well-being of its citizens. As part of efforts to mitigate risks involving the theft, cloning, reprogramming and/or unauthorised use and distribution of mobile handsets, governments are well-advised to establish, safeguard and monitor a national registry comprising critical operator and subscriber data. An example would be the IMEI number of a handset, its ownership, make and model. This centralised database would essentially function to address and mitigate all escalating concerns around security and legality, and ensure regulatory authorities have quick access to priority information as and when it is needed. Safety and integrity of operator and subscriber data is critical to the success and effectiveness of such a high-value database.
